Jimmy's loss is Morrris's Gain

Posted by The Administrator on Mar 10, 2008

Mark King ended Jimmy White's crucible dream for this year and in doing so secured David Morris's place in the Top 64 in the World. Morris needed Jimmy (65th) to lose today to keep his second round seeding for next season and guaranteed prize money for the first time. However one player can still catch Davey, China's 17 year old Liu Chuang defeated Dominic Dale 10-9 today to reach the Crucible and should he reach the Last 8 would then go above Morris and knock him back into the first round of every event next season. The likelihood of this happening is remote but the youngster has already beaten Lee Walker, Joe Delaney, David Gray and now Dale so far this event. What is more unusual is that he has only won one match all season outside this event and unless he wins his first round match at Sheffield he will drop off the tour. The draw takes place live on the internet tomorrow morning on Worldsnooker.com. View Scores.
