Jason Devaney was too good for Andrew Gray on the day in Letterkenny and picked up the Irish Under-16 Title in what has been a terrific few weeks for the youngster. Devaney picked up the Pontins
Under-15 Title only a few weeks ago but this was the one he wanted and will give him great confidence now traveling to Scotland in three weeks time for the European Championships.
A disappointing entry was made up for by a quality days play in the Northwest Snooker Club and Devaney and Gray were always going to be the ones to beat and showed that as they reached the
finals with 3-0 semi final wins over David Cassidy and Daniel O'Regan respectively.
The final however saw Gray never really get going and Devaney made the most of it going 2-0 before Gray produced a superb clearance to take the 3rd frame. Devaney however was not going to let
his lead slip and took the 4th and final frame for a deserved victory.
