Brendan Cooney warmed up for his upcoming World Championships with a fine 3-2 win over Joe Delaney to take an early lead in the ever popular First Step.ie Over-40's series. With several new name being eligible it was Cooney and Delaney who continued to dominate the series and with the early exit of No.1 seed Eugene Hughes, Brendan will now fancy his chances of holding onto the No.1 spot this season. However the results show how competitive the series is and Eugene will surely make a comeback in the next event.
