Players prepare for World C-ships

Last Sunday our National Coach PJ Nolan held a training day for our three players who will represent the Republic of Ireland in the upcoming IBSF World Amateur Snooker Championships in India.

Rodney Goggins from Wexford, Brendan O Donoghue from Nenagh and Mark Tuite from Killarney will fly the flag in the 2011 event which runs from the 28th of November to the 3rd of December.

The event will be held in the Billiard Hall of Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA), Bangalore, India which is one of the best training centres in the world.

The players trained with PJ from 10am until 4pm and PJ was very impressed with the players hunger and commitment during the training day.

PJ gave the players booklets to read on how to focus to play their best in the championship. PJ wished the three players good luck in the event and he hopes they can perform to their best in India.

Last year Rodney reached the Semi Finals in Syria winning the bronze medal and making his historic 147 maximum break and let’s hope the three players can again make some history in India .

Jim Leacy (Team Delegate) and Ger Murray ( Referee ) will travel with the three players to the World Championhip in India.

Everyone in Ireland will be able to keep up to date with the players via live scoring on the IBSF Web Site from the 28th Nov.
