Brendan O Donoghue is now the only Republic of Ireland player left in the 2011 World snooker Championships in India. Brendan will play Hossein Vafaei from Iran in the morning in the Q-finals and everyone in Ireland wish Brendan good luck in the match.

Earlier in the day Rodney Goggins lost in the last 48 round 0-4 to Vinnie Calabrese from Australia but Mark Tuite had a superb win over Antti Mannila from Finland 4 frames to nil. Brendan O Donoghue had a great victory over one of the top Indian players Manan Chandra 4 frames to 1.

In the last 32 round Mark played local hero Pankaj Advani and it was the Indian who played his best snooker in winning 5 frames to 0. Brendan again played great snooker in beating Fung Kwok Wai from Hong Kong 5 frames to 2 and move into the last 16.

In the last 16 the Nenagh man again showed why he is a former RIBSA number 1 in beating Omar Alkojah from Syria 5 frames to 1 to set up a match with the number one seed for the championship Hossein Vafaei.
