Delaney wins 7th Senior Event

Senior Ranking Tournament no 7 Royal Snooker Club Navan Sat. 14th and Sun. 15th April 2012.

Joe Delaney from Celbridge Snooker club won the 7th senior ranking event of the season at the Royal Snooker club in Navan at the weekend. Joe showed great form throughout the tournament and was a very worthy winner.

In his semi-final Joe defeated the no. 1 ranked player Rodney Goggins from Wexford by 4 frames to 1. In the other semi-final Robert redmond overcame the current Irish champion Jason Devanney by a similar 4 frames to 1 scoreline.

The final proved to be a high quality and exciting match with the advantage swinging from player to player. Joe, however finished the stronger and ran out the winner by 5 frames to 3.

Tournament director Ger Murray thanked Chris and Darius Mazgehery for their hospitality and for staging the tournament in their club over the weekend.
