Judge Wins 2013 Irish Senior Title
Former Professional player Michael Judge from the Q Club Wicklow won the 2013 RIBSA Senior National Championship in style coming back from four nil down to win in the Ivy Rooms SC in Carlow tonight
In the final the Dublin man beat Robert Redmond 8 frames to 5 in a unbelievable match to take the National title and qualify for the World Amateur Championships in Latvia next November.
Frame Scores: Judge first 52-61 (53), 0-61 (60), 49-64, 55-66, 70-15(54), 48-32, 86-1 (64), 80-0 (72), 67-29, 38-54, 65-32, 61-60,75-40.

Robert Redmond should also be proud of his performance this weekend with superb wins over Brendan O Donoghue and Robert Murphy. As the National Coach I believe Robert's day will come soon but Michael Judge was on a different planet this weekend as he showed his skill and experience to lift the Irish Title.
A big thank you must go to Marion and the Staff at the Ivy Rooms for the great facilities for the Championship weekend.

Jim Leacy RIBSA Chairman and IBSF President presented Michael with his trophy and Perpetual Cup which is in memory of Jim's Dad in front of the large attendance in Carlow.

The High Break prize went to Robert Redmond with a 119 Break in his semi final match.
2013 Senior National Semi Finals
The Final of the 2013 RIBSA Senior National Championship will feature Michael Judge and Robert Redmond after both came through superb quality semi finals earlier this morning in the Ivy Rooms Snooker club in Carlow.
Michael Judge put on a master class of match-play snooker in beating Irish number one David Hogan 6 frames to nil with a string of top breaks.
Frame Scores: 42-64 (50), 22-64 (60), 32-93 (74), 18-74(51), 21-85, 17-66 (60)
Robert Redmond again showed his true grit when he lead 3-0 but went 5-4 down before coming back to win 6 frames to 5 with an incredible clearance in the deciding frame to stop Murphy reaching the final.
Frame Scores: 58-61, 12-129(119), 65-9, 0-78 (50), 75-4(58), 72-11, 78-49. 69-22 (69), 7-83 (83), 51-65

2013 Senior Championships Q-Finals
The Semi-Finals of the 2013 RIBSA Senior National Championship will be between David Hogan and Michael Judge and Robert Murphy and Robert Redmond.
Last night we had an incredible night of snooker with all the games going down to the deciding frame bar one. David Hogan beat Johnny Williams 5-4, Michael Judge beat Rodney Goggins 5-4, Robert Redmond beat Brendan O Donoghue 5-4 and Robert Murphy beat Martin McCrudden 5-3
The semi finals are scheduled for 10am with the final at 4pm & 7pm

2013 National Championship Preview
The Q-Finals line up for the 2013 RIBSA National Senior Snooker Championships being played tonight in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow.
Each Q-finalist this year has the form to go on to win the title with a number of ex Champions in Martin McCrudden, Rodney Goggins and Brendan O Donoghue. Next you have former professional player Michael Judge and current No.1 David Hogan.
The remaining players Robert Murphy, Johnny Williams and Robert Redmond will be pushing them all the way to win this prestigious title.

Championships Day 2 Qualifiers
The Q-Final lineup has now been decided after day two of the 2013 RIBSA Irish Snooker Championships at the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow. The Irish Championship Q-Finals will be played in Carlow on Friday 24th May at 7pm.
The first player to Qualify today was Martin McCrudden when he beat Benny O Brien 4 frames to nil. Next Robert Murphy went through with a solid 4 frames to 2 over Masters No. 1 Mark Tuite.
The final two qualifiers were Brendan O Donoghue when he over powered Karl Fitzpatrick 4 frames to nil while Robert Redmond was in excellent form in beating David Cassidy 4 frames to 2 in an exciting match.
The Current highest break stands at 100 by David Hogan & Michael Judge.
The full Q-Final is listed below and it promises to be an exciting championship with eight world class snooker playing in top form with the dream of becoming the 2013 Irish Senior Champion.
As National Coach I would like to thank all the players who qualified and did not qualify in playing superb snooker all weekend. If you can make it to Carlow on Friday 24th May at 7pm to watch Ireland's top players as it promises to be a night not to be missed.

Championships Day 1 Qualifiers
Day one of the 2013 RIBSA Irish Snooker Championships at the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow has just ended with four qualifiers from a great days play. Saturday qualifiers will join the Sunday qualifiers for the Championship Finals weekend in Carlow on Friday the 24th and Saturday 25th of May.
First to qualify was former Professional player Michael Judge when he beat Stephen Reddington 4 frames to nil in his final qualifying match. Next it was former professional and current number 1 on the RIBSA Rankings David Hogan when he beat John O Sullivan 4 frames to 2 in a high quality match.
The final two qualifiers were Johnny Williams when he beat Thomas Ahern 4 frames to 1 and Rodney Goggins beat Greg Casey 4 frames to 2 in an exciting encounter which ended at 10pm. Click full results

Play starts at 10.00am in the morning featuring the rest of the players and it promises to be another day of exciting snooker in the search for the 2013 Irish Senior Champion. Well done to everyone
2013 Irish Championships

The RIBSA National Senior Championships qualifiers will begin on the 11th and 12th May with the final stages held a fortnight later on the 24th-26th May in the Ivy Rooms SC in Carlow.
The winner of the National Championships will represent RIBSA at the IBSF World Championships in Riga, Latvia on the 18th-30th November. The 2013 Event will be played down to the Q-Finals which will be played on Friday 24th May.
The Semi Final and Final will played on Saturday the 25th of May, this is due the senior and masters players travelling to represent Ireland in the European Championships in Poland on Sunday.
Play commences at 10:00 sharp on Saturday and Sunday in the best of 7 matches and promises to be an exciting championship. Entries must be received before 8pm Wednesday 8th May. Draw takes place on the 9th of May @ 6pm and posted on the website.
The Top 32 players on the current ranking list will be automatically entered in the draw.
